We’re getting excited here at Flourish as we draw closer to the opening of the new Altrincham Hub. Similar to the Heaton Chapel Station hub, part of ‘Action Stations,’ Altrincham has developed as a result of the regeneration project led by the Station Alliance (Northern Rail, Network Rail, TfGM, GMCVO and others) in partnership with Flourish Together CIC.
In preparation, we hosted several monthly focus groups to explore how to best utilise and evolve the space for those in the community. Each session provided a great opportunity to reconnect, learn about changemakers/social enterprisers and local organisations operating in Altrincham, the wider Trafford area and beyond.
Collectively, a list was devised of social enterprises, businesses and charities who it was felt could make use of the space.Through discussions, it was determined the space is more than suitable for:
- Creative arts sessions
- Digital skills training
- Wellbeing services
- Workshops
- Enterprise training
- Pop-up gallery exhibitions, shop and so much more.
Additionally, it may provide a potentially invaluable satellite or outreach location for NHS health pop-ups (for example, Blood donations, Public Health info sessions and Health checks) and for market researchers to reach new audiences.
With the Altrincham hub set to open by mid-September, we will have a soft launch and the plan an official Launch event in November to coincide with our 11th Birthday!
We would love the community to be a part of the opening celebrations in some capacity, so if anyone would like to participate whether it’s showcasing your ventures, products or talents let us know.
In preparation for the soft launch of the Altrincham hub, we will run a Monthly networking event for social and community enterprises from September, plus start to bring our Pop Up Spa into the space.
