On Wednesday 19th July, Flourish celebrated the official launch of the Flourish Hub, located on the first floor above Heaton Chapel Station. Many people from our fantastic network joined us, including local changemakers, supporters from the voluntary sector and Manchester City Council.
It was brilliant to be joined by so many faces old and new, giving people the chance to catch up and network with community groups and social entrepreneurs from Heaton Chapel, Stockport and across Greater Manchester. Delicious food was provided by Sofra Mcr, Arabian Twilight Cafe and Amazeballz Amazecakez plus we hosted our sister company’s ever-popular Pop Up Spa providing wellbeing and holistic treatments throughout the evening.
3D Printing Training at the Hub
June saw Flourish partner with Leigh-based 3D Printing organisation 3D360 to deliver a 3-day course at our new Flourish Hub. A diverse group of learners from across Stockport & Manchester took part in the course, gaining skills in:
- Assembling a 3D printer
- Basic CAD
- 3D printing a number of small items

Local to Clayton, she joined the Careers in Holistic Health programme we ran in partnership with our sister project Pop Up Spa and Retreat and she trained up in L2 and L3 Holistic and Natural Beauty Therapies, plus became a regular therapist at our monthly Pop Up Spas.

The ladies have been exploring different mediums and how to work with them, they have all included a power word or statement on their artwork that represents them – like ‘Strong Woman’ or ‘Freedom’.
