We started the SPLASH Network in the autumn of 2025 as a way of connecting with organisations in and around Trafford, opening the doors to our Altrincham Hub and creating space for potential collaboration. What has grown since then is a dynamic monthly meeting of minds that now stretches far beyond Trafford and across Greater Manchester.
SPLASH is a space for people and organisations driven by social impact, ethical values, and community change to connect in a meaningful way. Whether you’re part of a large social enterprise, a grassroots VCSE organisation, a local council, a purpose-led business, or an entrepreneur trying to do things differently, SPLASH exists to bring those worlds together.
The network creates space for honest discussion around the realities of community work, social enterprise, and purpose-led business. It recognises that the people doing this work are often balancing ambition with limited resources, while trying to create meaningful change in sometimes challenging circumstances. By bringing together different types of organisations, we’re creating a space where peer-to-peer support, shared learning, and collaboration can grow.
The agenda for SPLASH is always simple: who’s in the room, what are they working on, and how can we help each other move things forward. Conversations have ranged from sharing funding and grant opportunities, to promoting community events, to exploring how smaller organisations can better access business and council procurement opportunities. No two sessions are ever the same, but there is always a strong sense of openness, collaboration, and positive energy running through the conversation.
After seeing such strong engagement and connection through our in person sessions at the Altrincham Hub, we’re now experimenting with taking the SPLASH Network online. It’s an opportunity to open up the conversation to a broader range of people and organisations across Greater Manchester and beyond, making it even easier for purpose-led businesses, social enterprises, and community organisations to connect, collaborate, and share ideas.
The spirit of the SPLASH Social Enterprise Network is to create a ripple effect of social good across Greater Manchester through business and enterprise. It’s for organisations looking to strengthen community connections, build meaningful partnerships, and explore new ways of working collaboratively.
